Privacy on Social Media

When looking at privacy on social media, I will be using Facebook as the example.

Allowing the user to allow or deny the sharing of their physical data, such as their address and phone number ensures the user has physical privacy.

Mental privacy is ensured where you can delete content that you do not want to see. It ensures users cannot get brainwashed. When using Facebook you are able to share your thoughts freely and you are free to express your thoughts as well as those who can comment on your thoughts.

Decisional privacy allows users to decide who can see their posts and decide who they want to befriend on social media. This means that not every person on social media can intrude in your life. Unfortunately there is abit of an issue in Facebook’s decisional privacy as they want as much information about you to target adverts, as well as other services, to you specifically.

Informational privacy is seen as the same as the physical privacy measures. Choosing your information and how to display it is up to you as the user.
